Toni has worked as counsellor, therapist and counselling trainer and supervisor in Sydney, Armidale, Perth and more recently back in Sydney for 30 years. She was in private practice in Annandale at the Institute for Emotionally Focused Therapy (IEFT) until August 2017.
Toni is now in private practice in the Coolangatta/Tweed Heads area and mainly works with childhood trauma among adults, both individuals and couples and is interested in how the therapeutic relationship holds the client; she is also interested in how gender, culture and religion work with EFT.
Toni is interested in the same principles of therapeutic relationship when supervising clinicians and works with the clinician’s own responses and reactions in their work as well as case presentations and is currently working with individuals and groups.
Toni has also had experience as an academic, lecturing and tutoring at the University of New England, Otago University, and Curtin University. Toni lectures in MA Counselling programmes about EFT for a number of universities.
Toni has recently completed Levels 1,2 & 3 at the EFT Clinic at York University in Canada with Prof Les Greenberg, and, EFT Complex Trauma (childhood trauma) with Prof Sandra Paivio. Toni is a clinical Level 4 member of Australian Counselling Association
Toni has a long history of supervision training beginning with a 6 months weekly course with Eric Hudson in Sydney in 1995 and further supervision training with Dr. Michelle Webster from the Institute for Emotionally Focused Therapy in EFT (now called the Annandale Institute) for individuals and groups over 7 days 1996 and 2012 and 2017.
I am a member of the College of Supervisors with Australian Counselling Association (ACA) and an individual member of The International Society for Emotion Focused Therapy (IsEFT).
